2024 Interior Design trends
Sian O'Brien from StudiOB shares some of the key trends for this year to help inspire your 2024 interiors...
2023 was a year filled with all white minimal interiors and neutral Bali-esque retreat styles, but move over white and ivory, 2024 is going to be the year for colour and personality!
Now don't get me wrong, I am a lover of minimalism and a hater of clutter..but, I am a magpie when it comes to interesting furniture and punchy Artwork, so I for one am thrilled about this shift in trend for this year.
Clean, uncluttered interiors still have a place, only this time with a far more curated aesthetic. The emphasis, when designing, will be on simplicity and functionality, but in a more bespoke way. Injecting the personality of the home owner, using custom furnishings, with fabulous statement Artwork being the star of the show!
A vintage revival is also upon us and metallic accents are featuring heavily in both furnishings and finishes this year. Think bronzes, brass, steel and even a chrome revisit!
We are seeing more 'one of a kind' wooden furniture pieces in interesting shapes along with custom sofas and armchairs, echoing '70s and mid-century influences.
All in all 2024 is setting up to be an exciting year for interior design, offering a lot of freedom to designers to really push the boundaries when it comes to furniture choice and materials.

Colour to look out for
Green. Greens are still a hit and here to stay. But, out with jewel tones and in with natural greens. Bringing the outdoors inside will be big this year, from giant house plants to the use of colour and natural materials.
