Living in Kennedy Town
Kennedy Town is situated west of Central and predominantly residential - close enough to the heart of Hong Kong and all the city offers but with a more relaxed vibe.
Things To Do in Kennedy Town
A wide selection of western and local eateries abound, particularly around Catchick Street. A recent plethora of boutique shops, restaurants, and apartments has attracted professionals and young families wanting a bit more surrounding space or buying opportunities. Kennedy Town Public Swimming Pool is an ultra-modern and hugely popular indoor-outdoor recreational bonus on the harbour-front.
Properties Advice
Contemporary new apartment buildings with gyms and pools are popping up, but the more prevalent walk-ups provide many with value, character, space and renovation opportunities. The Tung Fat Building is a classic example of the renovation potential of older style buildings in the area. This is mostly mid-to-high-rise territory, with less office space and more street-level buildings than next-door Central.
Perks
The absence of skyscraper offices on the harbour front gives a sense of being much closer to the water and less hemmed-in by buildings. There’s the newly extended Central and Western District Promenade, Sheung Wan section, for those who like a waterfront walk.
