Living in Quarry Bay and North Point
Neighbouring harbourside areas, North Point and – slightly further east – Quarry Bay, are thriving residential and business districts with a family-friendly appeal increasingly favoured by professionals.
Properties: a mix of older style, low-rise apartments built around street-level commercial offerings and ultra-modern high-rise developments with swimming pools and club houses. Many global companies now have headquarters in Quarry Bay, making it a popular choice for young professionals.
Amenities: An array of supermarkets – both local and international – upmarket restaurants, fitness studios, hotels, playgrounds, sporting facilities and contemporary malls offering world class shopping.
Transport: Quarry Bay and North Point benefit from their own MTR stations, giving access to the entire Hong Kong train network. Central is roughly 30 minutes train ride from Quarry Bay and about 20 minutes from North Point. Taxis, buses and mini-buses are prevalent, with Central 10-15 minutes by cab along the Eastern Expressway.
Perks: Both have all that Central has to offer in the way of offices, shops, cafes, restaurants and leisure activities, but in a residential setting. Harbour views can be enjoyed from the newer developments.
