As the Year of the Dragon leaps and dances towards us, Chinese New Year's rich tapestry of traditions and joyous reunions unfolds upon us. As we prepare and seek out meaningful gifts for loved ones, we have been swooning over Gucci's special CNY collection, featuring the mystical dragon and other auspicious motifs.

Our Senior Property Consultant Chelsea Cheng, a busy, leading Hong Kong luxury property agent and devoted mother stopped by her favourite Gucci Landmark Boutique for some last minute Chinese New Year shopping. We tagged along as she perused their gorgeous CNY and homewares collections, just perfect as we all look to add some vibrance to our wardrobes and homes this CNY!

Chelsea shared some of her favourite CNY family traditions

  • Decorating the house is a family affair with everyone helping to display the traditional Chinese New Year symbols and decorations incorporating red lanterns, couplets and paper cutouts, symbolizing luck and prosperity. Her young daughter loves this part too!
  • Chelsea always visits local markets like Pottinger Street to find authentic decorations supporting local artisans and adding cultural authenticity to the ambience.
  • Food plays a significant role in Chinese New Year celebrations, and she loves to make dumplings as a family activity, along with other traditional dishes like fish and nian ga.
  • Chelsea's family likes to visit the Man Mo Temple to offer prayers for academic success, emphasizing cultural heritage and the value of education.
  • And of course meaningful gifts are so important for Chelsea and her family. From exquisite handbags symbolizing love, well-wishes and appreciation to fun gifting for precious pets such as stylish collars or cozy beds, it all symbolizes love and appreciation to family and our furry companions during the festive season!
